ICRA 2024 Workshop - Robotics and Sustainability

Workshop - Robotics and Sustainability: A Bidirectional Relationship - at ICRA 2024

Monitoring, preserving, and restoring the planet is not just an option; it's an urgent necessity. The workshop aims to explore the synergy between robotics and sustainability, focusing on the latest advancements in robotics for sustainable actions. Further, the workshop aims at establishing guidelines for the sustainable development, application, and life cycle of robotic systems through discussions among environmental scientists, roboticists, academic experts, and industry professionals.

This workshop is a grassroots effort led by PhD students: Emanuele Aucone (ETH Zürich and WSL), Madeleine Darbyshire and Laurence Roberts-Elliott (University of Lincoln), Avgi Stavrou and Georgios Tzoumas (University of Bristol).

Supporting professors: Prof. Stefano Mintchev (Assistant professor, ETH Zürich and WSL), Prof. Elizabeth Sklar (Research Director, University of Lincoln), Prof. Sabine Hauert (Professor of Swarm Engineering, University of Bristol)

Endorsement and support: IEEE RAS TC on Energy, Environment, and Safety issues in Robotics and Automation, and IEEE RAS TC on Agricultural Robotics and Automation.
