Welcome to the Environmental Robotics Lab

The research of the Environmental Robotics Lab addresses the opportunities and challenges brought by robotics with respect to climate change, environmental degradation, and sustainability. Taking inspiration from nature, we study novel design, manufacturing, perception, and control paradigms to create versatile and robust machines that can explore complex and unpredictable natural environments. The purpose of these new robots is threefold: i) enable high spatial and temporal resolution data collection for environmental studies, ii) minimize the ecological footprint, and iii) mitigate the effects of climate disasters.
